Fine needles or acupuncture needles are gently inserted into the skin or muscle with the aim to decrease pain resulting from musculoskeletal conditions such as achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and more.

It targets myofascial trigger points which are hypersensitive palpable as nodules within muscles. It is often used in conjunction with other modes of treatment.
