Custom made orthotics are not just “arch supports”. They provide a strong foundation for the rest of the body to function more efficiently by stabilising and controlling foot motion using the highest grade materials, latest technology and clinical methods. Each orthotic is personally designed and prescribed for your individual biomechanical and lifestyle needs. We will guide you through the process regarding what type of orthotics are appropriate for you and for what type of footwear and activity.
Orthotics help improve the alignment of the lower limb and associated anatomical structures. This, in turn, allows the ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints of the rest of the body to function more efficiently reducing the risk of injury, long term degenerative changes, allowing us to live more actively and assist growing children reach their optimal development potential.

The process

Assessment 
  • Detailed analysis of presenting symptoms and the history of previous attributing factors
  • Assessment of presenting condition and pain management programme initiated where appropriate
  • Imaging where indicated- Ultrasound, X rays, MRI, CT etc
  • Biomechanical assessment to analyse function, alignment of all lower limb structures and how they affect the rest of the body (hips/lower back, spine, posture) using treadmill gait analysis with video for a more in depth approach.
  • 3D scanning- latest digital scanning technology is used to capture the unique properties of each foot for a more accurate and functional pair of custom made orthotics.
